remote desktop works, but cannot login back in when home

Guys,

I have a strange problem. I have a t61p with an advanced dock. When I use vista's remote desktop to access my vista laptop from work, it is fine. But when i get home and I try to log back in it hangs at a black screen with the mouse cursor visible and responsive.

Here is one guess:
When you are done with remote desktop do you log out or do you just click the x to close the window? If you click the x you are not logged out and depending on the settings it may be several hours before the disconnected session is logged out. You cannot log in to the account if the remote session is still logged in.

thats a good guess, but why does same procedure work if my laptop isnt in the minidock?
