0192 Security chip tampered in sleep mode

#1 Post by andyph666 » Thu Jan 10, 2008 4:20 am

Hello,

Got the x60 here was wondering if anyone managed to get the laptop to sleep? Installed kalyways 10.5.1 and changed the powermanagement bundle and got no battery indicator. It can sleep but when it wakes up it goes to the lenovo boot up screen and shows Error code 0192 Security chip has been tampered and I have to turn off the computer and turn it on to restart the OS. I disabled the security function in the bios and it did nothing either. Thanks.

I have a T60 and sleep is working fine. In my experience the only way to have it work was with Uphuck (MBR or GUID works the same) + EFI + Vanilla Kernel.

I was able to have the battery indicator as well, but then I broke the sleep...

Ciao!

efi + vanilla = 0192 error fix

got it to sleep, with boot F8 vanilla
thought if you install kalyway with vanilla and EFI, it would be just that, ??
in iatkos with cpus=2 it crashes, guess speedstep problem,

so no speed step, or no sleep,
and no fan control

FYI, I managed to get it working on a T60p, with the following tweaks:
- replaced AppleSMBIOS with a one saying Macbook2,1 (macnub's does that)
- prevented AppleACPILPC to associate with my hardware by commenting the right pci string match in AppleACPIPlatform/Contents/Plugins/AppleACPILPC/Contents/Info.plist

Use some ioreg and kexstat to debug. You can also start by booting in safe mode to see if the machine wakes from sleep in this case. It did with my setup and stopped waking up as soon as the ACPILPC was loaded.

Hope this helps

ThinkPad x60s 10.5.1 Kalyway does sleep

#6 Post by copperbeech1 » Wed Apr 30, 2008 8:50 am

I have been working on my x60s and found that if I use the Sleep command in the apple menu it goes to sleep. However, in order to get it to wake back up (without going to boot screen + 0192 error) I have to close the laptop screen and reopen it.

That was with Kalyway 10.5.1, no PowerMangement.bundle. However, after upgrading to 10.5.2 (the Kaly-way) it no longer sleeps/wakes up.

To the guys that did get sleep working... can you tell me:

1) What kernel were you using? Vanilla 9.2 or 9.2.2?
2) What SMBIOS were you using?
3) Did you have PowerManagement.bundle?

Thanks!

(I know this is an old topic, but i'm interested)

I'm running 10.5.4 with vanilla kernel 9.4.0 ("stock")

Installing the Macbook SMBIOS and removing the two *LPC.kext files made sleep work 100% of the time :-)
