Looking for a way to attach a close-fitting protective screen [14.5"]to my laptop LCD display. The vendor sent me some adhesive plastic tabs but these keep coming off. There is not much room on the margins of the display to do much fixing of tabs anyway.
Also is there another protective screen that I can purchase that will fit better ?
I noticed that the later IBM models eg T40 have built in protective screens. Can I get this done on my T20 ?

There should not be any reason to apply such a screen, unless you have little kiddies that like to poke their little fingers on the screen.
If this is the case, keep them away by putting barbed razorwire around the laptop-area.
Apart from that, with such a screen you can not close the lid, I guess?
If that screen itself is thin enough, perhaps you could remove the screen's frame and the bezel around the LCD, and the screen might just fit in it's place, using the old Dremel.
(but you would probably still not be able to close the laptop).
3M probably make a protective film that you would attach directly onto the LCD itself, but that would hardly improve the 'visibility' of the screen content.

Closing the cover is not a problem since the screen is quite thin and fits snugly into place. It does not have a frame and is just a thin transparent polythene sheet that falls into the LCD frame snugly.However there is nothing to hold it in place permanently since the adhesive tabs are ineffective. [The margins on the LCD frame are very thin. ]. I can use the screen when the LCD is tilted back since it fits snugly. What I am getting at is if there is a permanent fix for the screen. [ What is Dremel ?]
