Hi,
I took apart my T30 to clean it (just removed the keyboard) and had it apart for about 2 weeks while I waited for a floppy drive to arrive to repair a corrupted restore partition.
When I reassembled it today it powered on and then I got 'Fan Error' and then it powers off.
What have I done?
Did I damage it while cleaning it? All it did was blow some of the dust away.
Thanks.
Fan error

Since that fan has jammed already, it means something went wrong at some earlier stage.
Look around for a replacement fan, you wouldn't want to see your CPU go up in smoke!

Hmmm... check the following:
1. The fan it´s working fine? Turns on and off automatically?
2. If not, test the battery with a 9V Battery (the square one), the red wire with the positive and the black one with the negative.
3. If the fan it´s working fine but the board doesn´t turn on/off the fan, so you will need to replace the board (too expensive) OR, the more cheapest way, point the red wire to a 5V part of the board (I suggest you the 5V pin of the USB, check USB pin description in google) and the fan will work always on.
The fan error will always be on the boot screen, don´t bother with that if you follow the above steps.
See you!!!!
