Trade a x40 for x32

#1 Post by istel » Fri Jan 11, 2008 2:15 pm

Hi all,

Just a check with you guys.

Would you trade a 8.5/10 x40 with a 5.5/10 x32.

The x40 is a 1.4ghz with 1.5gb of ram. With one 4 cell and a brand new 8-cell battery and ultrabase x4.
It looks almost like new with 1/2 year warranty left.

The x32 is a 1.8ghz with 2gb of ram. 2 used 6 cell battery and ultrabase x3.
The exterior has scratches all over the bottom with paint coming off the edge of the top lid. One of the bracket where the ultrabase hooks on to is chipped off. Interior of the thinkpad looks okay though. Has 1 year warranty left though.

Would you go for it?

Depends. Do you need the extra CPU speed and hard drive performance? What sort of hard drive does the X32 have?

Hmm... actually I've already decided on my course of action. I'm just curious if any of you guys will trade a nice looking lappy for a battered looking one

The x32 has 60gb 5400rpm hdd. The x40 has a 40gb

The X32 is superior in every way, except weight (and in your case, looks). I'd go for it.

I would not, because the X32 is almost a pound heavier.

x32 fella withdrew his offer :(
Guess I'm gonna stick around with my x40 for a while :)

Looking to purchase a T42p instead... I think I'm down with the tp flu
