Hello Everyone. First post. I would like to thank the forum admin. and posters as this community helped me get through some rough patches with my X61tablet during the start of my medical school career this fall when it NEEDED to work right and was not....
I struggled through the turbo memory thing stalling my computer when I was working on powerpoint during lectures, through my screen delaminating, and through vista bs.
It is working fairly nicely now. Although I did just have to get a new mother board after the lenovo update fried mine trying to put on a new bios. Also the pen storing device and pen have both broken and I am getting new ones.
But I do love this computer when it is on and running well. quiet, light sleek, and the tablet functions are great for a medical student labeling MRIs and xrays and powerpoint images!
Questions....
1. I get an error 75 when trying to use lenovo system update...I dont even know if I should use this utility as something bad happens when I do try and update things...buttons stop working, bios update screws up, etc etc. BUT i do want the option of using the update to see what I am missing and should look into updateing. Any ideas on the error 75? I tried to reinstall the update program from lenovo after uninstalling and it still does not work.
2. My screen still delaminates a bit at the hinge. I already had it replaced once but it is the same as the one prior. Not a real big deal but have they come up with a new screen yet? Should I warranty again? It is the sxga.
3. For the first time in my life I went out and bought a computer game. So excited. Call of Duty 4. After instalation, it said it could not play because a number of errors. I googled the errors and it appears it is because I dont have either 1. a graphics card at all or 2. a powerful enough graphics card. Question: Can I install a grpahics card on this little computer? In the ultrabase? Will I ever be able to play this game or should I return it? If there is a card, any recommendations on which one for the X61 tablet?
so appreciative of you all. Can't imagine having to pay some tech guy for every little quesiton I have about this computer if a forum like this did not exist.
cheers,
dave
ps. still running this machine with turbo memory disabled...should I continue this way?

1. Since your System Board was replaced so chances are the technician didn't set Serial number, Machine Type and other information in the BIOS of your thinkpad:
ThinkVantage System Update error 75.
2. Is it the screen that delaminates or the bezel that's separating? In any case a picture is worth thousand words in order to understand what you mean, precisely.
Warranty should take care of either, you should also consider taking it to any IBM authorized repair center in your area to explain and show a tech your screen problem, in person:
Find a Lenovo Service Provider in the Americas.
3. Your tablet has graphics card (Intel X3100), the tablet nor it's Ultrabase allows you replace and or add second graphics card, resepectively. I am no gamer, but maxing out memory at times helps but don't take my word for it.
You can install Turbo Memory drivers from lenovo or intel but if it causes problem then simply disable it, Turbo Memory is a huge failure IMO.
