No, the BIOS is not going to accept it.

that's as a result of it not being the "IBM" type or just all of those cards wont work? I have a 2007 also and was thinking to upgrade to N soon.

I'm guessing the linked card wouldn't work because it's not the IBM flavor but the other Intel cards that are "IBM'ed" should work just fine :) (then goes to add the 3rd antenna... i guess i'll look online but that's another thread)

No, that's unfortunately due to lenovo locking down the BIOS to accept only certain cards with particular PCI ID's, Intel 4965AGN is one of them for T60/p, regardless of where it is bought from lenovo or elsewhere. Same is true for newer generation of Thinkpad branded Atheros NICs that are seen in T61/p, they can't be made to work in T60/p.

   I am having a buddy ship me three n-capable cards I ordered a while ago when I was overseas. The FRU# is 42T0825. Is this the 4965AGN??? And if not, what the heck is the difference?

I've been looking into this as well. You can have Lenovo do the modification. They will put in the 42T0825 card and the 42R9910 3rd antenna (FRU's for T60p 2007 15"). The card costs about 65 € and the antenna 6 €. They'll charge 1 hour for the work.

For this kind of work Thinkpads from Belgium/Holland are sent to Germany. It will take a maximum of 10 days. You can send your machine without the hard drive.

You can also install the card and the antenna yourself. See http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=42454 for more on this.
