How to install iATKOS on X61

#1 Post by tonyyore » Sat Jan 12, 2008 11:04 pm

I've heard that someone failed in installing iATKOS with EFI enabled. I wonder if it is the case. Can anyone give me a hint?
Another thing is that I use ubuntu on my X61, and how to setup dual boot? Use grub or something else? Is there anyone doing the same thing? Please tell me what to do. Thanks.

I've installed IATKOS fine without PC_EFI, but I imagine there shouldn't be a big difference with it, you just need to select PC_EFI instead of Darwin Bootloader in the Drivers section (under Customize...).

Grub works fine with OS X - just add an entry like:

# OSX86
title OSX86
root (hd0,2)
chainloader +1

You may need to boot Linux after the install and rerun grub-install to put grub back on the MBR.

Thanks. I've already installed iATKOS on my X61. But here comes anther problem: the sound card doesn't work well.
I've tried AppleHDAPatcher but I was told "unsupported codec".

Is there a solution? Thanks

Not that I know of, no. Same problem with the T61.

I have a ThinkPad x60s on which I installed Kalyway 10.5.1 and I was able to get the audio output to work using AzaliaAudi.
