Thinkpad R60i vs. Asus F5

#1 Post by deejay22 » Sun Jan 13, 2008 7:25 pm

I'm on the verge of buying an R60i entry level machine and I am vacilating towards an Asus F5 simply because it has a built in media card reader. Both are entry level with dual core about 1.5 processors and similar specs.

Any views?

Thanks.

Don't you mean the R61i which I believe has a card reader.

There was also thinkpad R60i released.

You are quite right, it is an R61i I am referring to and I am almost certain the entry level machine with a 1.46 processor has no card reader.

Didn't know there was a R60i, a new one for me. I use aSanDisk PCMCIA card reader for my R60. It sits flush with the side. I haven't seen the Asus, so it's hard to comment on it. I been very happy with my R60 if that helps.

FYI, Z61m (15.4" LCD) and Z61t (14.1" LCD) models have built-in multi-media readers.

They may be a little hard to find since they are discontinued. I have a Z61t and it's a very nice ThinkPad.

Aren't they basis of the Ideapad series? I think they are perfect for home use too.
