Sleep problems?

#1 Post by csadowski » Sun Jan 13, 2008 10:22 pm

Does anyone have sleep problems with their X61s running Vista? Mine goes into sleep successfully roughly 50% of the time. The other 50%, it stays on, the screen goes blank, and it eventually bluescreens and reboots.

Does anyone else experience this or know why it happens? I have all the updates installed, including the BIOS updates, both from MS and Lenovo.

By any chance you've Intel's Turbo Memory installed?
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

I also have this problem. I've done some searching, and have found many other users experiencing the same thing. The symptoms are always the same - you hit sleep, and the screen blanks, but the OS continues churning on without shutting down any components or parking the hard disk.

Most seem to be of the opinion that its Vista-related, without offering any real solutions yet....

I have sleep problems too with Vista on my X61s. The main one is about 50% of the time when I come back to wake it up from sleep mode, I find the system crashed and rebooted. Vista looks for a solution and keeps telling me the solution is KB943899 which was already installed and doesn't help. All system updates, drivers, and windows updates are current. Hoping for better luck with SP1.
