Question on the hidden software on a T60P...

#1 Post by SaberX » Mon Jan 14, 2008 7:14 am

My buddy who owns the T60P wants me to put a clean install of Vista on it.Not doing the IBM restore.
I'm going to make a dvd copy of the restore dvds now.
I want to know if i put in the Vista dvd and do a clean install of Vista, will i still have the hidden recovery software still on the hard drive doing it this way.?

I like to have the hidden stuff still there incase i fool things up and can still put it back to stock.

Update...
I just made a copy of the restore disks on this T60P.
It made a "start up" dvd and then made "disk 1" then said it was done.
I thought when you make a copy of the restor dvd's it will take 5 or 6 dvd's.
Am i missing something?????

You should be able to do a selective recovery using the restore partition and choose not to install the components you do not want while still getting all the drivers and the components you do want. It should be the same as a clean install.
