ok peeps
ive had a t21 for a few years now and its been sweet till of late
problem being the laptop would power up but i would get no power light or display, so i would have to pull the power lead out and then try again a few times till everything kicked in.
today it did the same as normal and i was online and the laptop rebooted but froze on the windows xp screen
so i pulled the power again and now is just goes thru the motions of working but with no power light or display no matter how many times i try to get it to go.
im thinkin the mother board is deffective, i dont get no harddrive activity light or nothing just the fans kickin in
any ideas lol
thanxs in advance
T21 PROBLEM
Could be the battery is so bad/shorted out it's causing problems..
Try booting without battery..Also if you can try a different AC adapter..
Try the simple stuff first. Then is all else fails, it's probably the MB..

Hi!
There´s multiple reasons of your display failure. If you think maybe the databus of the display is damaged or not working fine so you need to replace it.
If that databus its working fine so you will need to check if that part has correctly the screw, you can do the following, sounds weird but that work for me:
Remove the Keyboard, any minipci cards (like WiFi on the slots of the left side of the laptop), the hard disk, the DVD or CD unit, FIRST OF ALL, THE AC ADPTER AND THE BATTERY.
Then, check the databus connection of the display to the mainboard, must be correctly connected and with their respective screw. Then assembly the keyboard, adjust first the upper side correctly then adjust firmly pushing down from the two bottom corners (fn key and right arrow key at the same time), then push firmly the "Y" key to attach the connector of the keyboard to the mainboard. Assembly all screws (only 2 for the keyboard on the back of the computer), and insert the battery (if you want, I prefeer to no used it if im using the ac adapter), the hard disk, the dvd or cd unit and other periferics, like your WiFi card. And turn on your Laptop and check!
I know, that sounds weird, but that works with me, sometimes in a few months ago I was present the same problem with the display, If I move the laptop then the display freezes by itself, and doing the above steps that problem was fixed, cientifically I don´t know what happend doing that, but the problem was fixed, I can dance hard with my Laptop in my hand and the system is Ok always, no feezes.
The only one thing fixed on my T21 is the Fan system, I decided to conect it directly cause the mainboard doesn´t want to turn it on or off, so I have my Laptop fresh everytime and everywhere.
Regards from Colombia!!
