Panasonic 6-cell battery and new China keyboard revision?
I thought IBM only used Sony or Sanyo batteries.
I was happy that I didn't get the Sanyo, but it seems that I have a Panasonic 6-cell battery on the way. FRU #92P1060.
Also there's a new part # for the China made 14" keyboard. FRU#13N9831

I guess someone else would have to comment on that but I would guess that they signed a contract with Panasonic as well (perhaps for demand or something else).
Can you tell us how the fit is on your Panasonic? Some (myself included) had switched our Sanyo's for Sony's for a better fit.
With regards to the China keyboard, perhaps its a revision (after the myriad of complaints) on the previous China keyboard.
I'd like someone to review it

IBM ThinkPad T42 (2378-FVU), 14.1" SXGA, ATI 9600, 512MB, 40GB, DVD-ROM/CDRW, 6 cell and 9 cell battery, Waterfield bag (sfbags.com)
well, the panasonic battery seems to fit fine.
I do believe the keyboard is a new revision of the China keyboard. It doesn't have "Made in China" stamped anywhere. There's no flex on the right lower corner. The keys do make a little more noise than the Thai keyboard. The aluminum that is used has less holes maybe making it sturdier. I don't have a Thai keyboard on hand to make a direct comparison.
overall it's good.
