T42 with ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 - widescreen resolutions?

T42 with ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 - how do i access widescreen resolutions for my 24" LCD 1080HD?

I have a T42 with the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 video card. Apparently the Lenovo site support section isn't working so I can't check for newer drivers but I did update the driver to the latest I had on the hard drive (dated 2005). When I plug in the LCD monitor, I only get 4:3 resolutions even tho the monitor is LCD and supports 1920x1200 resolution.

I've done extensive Google searches to try to find out how to access the widescreen resolutions and can't seem to find anyone that's successfully done it.

Anyone here have any idea?

Appended later in the day:
Okay, I found the answer. If you do not have a docking station (like most of us probably) and only can use the VGA output, use this little free program to access all the available resolutions for whatever monitor you have plugged in. Oh, my 24" LCD is actually 1080 (1900x1200). The little utility works like a charm and I'm writing this in ultra high resolution on the 24" LCD (1900x1200) and it looks great!

Also, just FYI I have an external widescreen monitor (1680x1050) and I use Presentation Director to switch to the correct resolution. That way I was able to switch quickly by using Fn+F7. I'm actually using ATI Omega drivers but I imagine it would be the same for Lenovo/ATI drivers.

Just make sure you have the newest version of Presentation Director, because a few versions ago it didn't have 1680x1050 in the drop-down list, and that really peeved me.
