I wonder how much battery life Jobs sacrificed by making the MBA .76" instead of .8" at its thinnest point?

(The battery apparently runs across the entire width of the device.)

I assume you mean thickest, not thinnest.

Lenovo, Fujitsu planning to use Intel's MacBook Air chip.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,

and Macbook air is using smaller scale merom chip too. which means only 20W power dissipation compare to normal scale merom processor which dissipate ~35W

Actually, that CPU's not special at all. Intel was planning to roll it out in second half of 2008 anyway, if you've been reading news. Just seems, that Apple got its hands on it a bit earlier.

well, but it has less power consumption

I haven't seen the specs, but i don't this it uses less power than LV or ULV nowadays, even the clock rate is similar.

I just held my first MB air here at the store and can say... WOW, it really is thin! By comparison, the X looks huge...those curves and slopes really give the air the impression of lightness all around. But Tthen I look at the $1699 price, think about the NON-user replaceable battery, 1.8" hdd (also probably a pain to get at) and figure, meh.... sounds like an x61s (~$1000) with a 32gb SSD (~600) is more fun!
