R50p battery power

#1 Post by Did » Tue Nov 23, 2004 9:12 am

Hello, what is usual time, that ThinkPad R50p may operate with battery power. In two conditions: high performance and super power save. Has someone made that kind of measurment ?
thanks

I have not done any measurements per se. I have been impressed with the battery life on mine in conserve mode. My unit showed up with a batt pack that sticks out the back a bit.. I am not sure if that is the long life or standard.. I'd pull it out, but then I couldn't type ;-)

Anyway, I have been able to watch a full DVD on battery. The movie was about 2 hours long. Right now in full brightness mode it claims 3:35 left and I have been off charger for about 30 minutes.

Are you encountering poor battery performance?

Mike

Hi !
Every part has number, my battery number is - 8K8193. This is ordinary one. So, I asked the question, because I've seen another laptops that are able to operate in battery power approximately 5 hours. But in case of R50p think that 2 hours full perfomance is normal.

I took a look at my battery and it is a 08K8197 Option # (08K8198 FRU) so it is the long life Li-Ion Battery.

I am also considering the UltraBay Battery as an option for longer flights when no power is available.
