T40 System Update not launching

#1 Post by delaneybob » Sat Jan 19, 2008 7:06 am

Hi,
I installed the Microsoft .Net 2.0 and installed the 3.1 version of System Update. Everything was OK. I launched System Update and get the start up GUI which lasts 10 seicnds and then goes away. I waited 10 minutes->relaunched->same issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I am on a separate forum for Malware (run32dll.exe hitting disks all the time). I have manually stopped those processes which fixed it.

However the fan is still running all the time even with CPU at 0%

Thanks

It might need something you dont have installed. That Should be easy to figure out on their site in the requirements section.

Or perhaps an older version hasn't been uninstalled properly/completely

Hi,
I have all the prereqs. uninstalled and reinstalled. Then I downgraded to Microsoft .Net 1.1 and reinstalled still the same.

Thye have a 3.13 System Update that supposedly gives you indications of loading failures but never saw them.

Thanks
