UPDATE : Zender has contacted me and supplied what i needed.

Thanks for all and special thanks to Zender

Hello,

Firstly I am a noobie so apologise for any stupid stuff on my part,

I have PM Zender and so far had no response which is not a problem however am still looking for a Bios for a Lenovo R61 7735-CA2 to be able to use a new Wireless Card a Atheros which my Laptop tells me is not Authorised the normal 1802 error.

Does anyone have a bios for the Lenovo R61 which I can use to clear this error and allow me to use an unauthorised Wirless PCIe card.

Thanks

A

Just ran the fix on my T60 DUA2623 with a Intel 4965AGN and it ran perfectly. I now have 144Mbps with only two antennae wires. Not sure if I would get more speed adding the third one. Any ideas anyone?
Wanted to add that this machine is running Windows 7
PS Thanks Zender :D

You can get up to a 300Mbps connection with three antennas. I did my T60p up with the Atheros AR5008X wireless N card, which didn't need a BIOS hack. Works great! ;)

have seen many post about 1802 and 1804 error in the forum.
Cause the AMI bios, zender coun't patch the sl400 bios.

Dose anyone konws how to bypass the 1802 and 1804 error of SL400?
Is it possible to bypass the 1802 error only by tape 20-pin of not-approved wlan or wwan card?
(not moded bios)

have seen someone could insert the vender id and device id of not-approved card into AMI bios.
How to do that?

thanks
sorry for my poor english

Hello, Thinkpadders!
Sorry for posting here, but I wrote to Zender last wednesday (more than 48 hours ago :) ) asking for patched BIOS for Thinkpad T61 15.4w (model 6464-W8D, current bios version 2.26 - 7LETC6WW), but have no reply received...
I want to install Intel's "WiFi/WiMAX Link 5150" card.
Have someone received suitable for me patched BIOS from Zender?
Thanks, Ereinion.
P.S. Sorry, if my question is stupid :)

I've successfully installed Zender's bios, and now my modem is working OK. I have Lenovo X200 and Sierra MC8775, for which I've installed HP drivers and Sierra 3G watcher. I also have ThinkVantage Access Connections, but when I press Fn+F5 it doesn't show WWAN, only WiFi, BT and WiMax. I'd like to integrate WWAN into this program, but I don't know how. I've used reading Zender's manual, but it won't help me. In the device manager there are 2 modems: HP hs2300 HSDPA Wireless Broadband Modem and Sierra Wireless Serial MP Modem. 1st one has Device ID of SWMUXBUS\SW_MODEM_6_VID_03f0&PID_1e1d, second one has just MP_MODEM_DEVICE. Zender says DevID should be in form of VEN_1234&DEV_5678, which is not for me. What should I do?

Zhenek: You should look for the card under USB devices. Also VID/PID and VEN/DEV give the same numbers.

Now I got Zender's BIOS and want to thank him for his work!
All that I needed from his BIOS is working.
But my plans failed because of one lenovo's feature - no USB signal in MiniPCI-e slot for WLAN. :(
WiFi part of card works fine, but WiMAX is not recognized. So I'll search for Intel 5300 :) and forget about internal WiMAX - don't want to use only half card (WiMAX is working in second slot, but WiFi not).

Zender, thanks for the reply!
So, what I did: I've found in AcAdaptersInfo.dll sequence (it was the first of its kind)

Code: Select all

VEN_8086&DEV_1043
and replaced it with

Code: Select all

VEN_03F0&DEV_1E1D
, because my modem in USB devices shows

Code: Select all

VID_03F0&PID_1E1D
, but after all AcFnF5.exe doesn't start. What I did wrong? :-)

You can't replace a wifi card's ID with wwan card. You have to choose some of the wwan cards, preferrably the MC8775 from Lenovo to do this - that would be VEN_1199&DEV_6813.

It seems that I'm completely stupid :-)

I've searched AcAdaptersInfo.dll for VEN_1199&DEV_6813, but found only VID_1199&PID_6813. I've replaced it with VID_03F0&PID_1E1D, but AcFnF5.exe doesn't start (Error 0xc000007b). Maybe I should not capitalize letters in modem's name (i.e. put VID_03f0&PID_1e1d). Should I also replace sequence in Acon.dll?

Just wondering if I can get a PM with x200s bios with the whitelist removed. Thanks.

Update: I have the files now, but I don't see both files I need to overwrite. I have $01b9000.fl1 and $01b9100.fl1 from the modified bios. However in the official I see $01b9000.fl1 and $01b9000.fl2. Should I removed the *.fl2 file and paste in the $01b9100.fl1?

2nd edit: I I now see the 9100 hundred file in the x200t folder 7XET61WW. So I guess that one isn't really important but I will just overwrite it anyways.

beavis4ever: Some of the later machines have two different BIOSes and the update utility selects the appropriate one. .FL1 files are BIOS, .FL2 are embedded controller, which doesn't have anything to do with the whitelist.

Zhenek: You always have to replace the strings in all libraries (dlls) in Access Connections folder, there should be two or three of them. Also make sure you don't modify anything else in the file, e.g. the file size must stay the same (in bytes).

Thanks Zender. I figured it out. I actually just used the Windows flash utility and pointed it directly to your FL1 file and flashed it that way. Everything went well. Thanks for all your efforts. Now does anyone know if you can get the WLAN led to function? I couldn't find any info on the x200s. Would pin taping possible fix that?

There shouldn't be a problem with the LED, as it's a standardised already. It's highly unlikely taping pin 20 will help in this matter. What is your card?

I picked up a non IBM/Lenovo Intel 5300. Everything in Windows works well except the led never lights up.

Does anyone know if and which WWAN card does Lenovo put in S10-3T? Device ID would be perfect.

Dumb question..

#623 Post by reajuria » Tue Mar 02, 2010 6:53 pm

Hi maybe this is a dumb question, can a MC8775 be reflashed, modified or modfirmware to fit vendor with lenovo's x200 7454-2gu wwan vendors?

It would be a cheap way to prevent damage to our mainboard... :D

Could this be possible :?:

INTEL P8600 - 2GB PC3-8500 - FUJITSU MHZ2160BH G1
INTEL 5100 AGN - WWAN IN PROGRESS

According to http://www.netbooks.ph/forums/viewtopic ... 20&start=0

these devices are in the whitelist
1. Ericsson F3607gw: 0BDB_1905, 0BDB_1907
2. Huawei EM770/770U/770W: 12D1_1003, 12D1_1001, 12D1_1404
3. Qualcomm GOBI: 05C6_9204, 05C6_9205
4. Huawei EM660: 12D1_1001 12D1_1404

I found these hex in MOD_5100.ROM

Hi!

Does anybody have modified BIOS for X60? I asked Zender few days ago, but he didn't answer.

TIA - Kuba.

edit: Yesterday I received BIOS, flashed my X60 today's morning - everything seems to be fine. Now I'm waiting for the new WiFi card. Thank you for help :-).

Does anyone know if the new ThinkPad Edge13 has a Phoenix based BIOS or other. I wanted to know if it was possible to modify it since mine arrives tomorrow and I want to re-use my nice atheros mini pci-e in it.
