Wednesday I pm'd Zender looking for a t61p (6459-CTO) bios that would work with the Intel 5100 wireless card I got last week. After waiting beyond the requested 48 hours to post here i'm hoping somebody with a compatible bios can send it along to me.

I'm currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, so I know i'll need to create a bootable cd with the new bios. I'll be reading up on how to do that in the meanwhile. Many thanks, Zender for the great solution you've provided here to a very silly move by lenovo.

Thanks all.
I was able to shift my BIOS backwards to 3.11 with as I loaded Zender's patched BIOS then install the Lenovo Gobi 2000 card. Both WWAN and GPS are working well now using Access Connections in Win7 Pro with Lenovo drivers. Both Hardware Switch and F5 menu also work; Cheers!

Thanks to Zender, it's smooth sailing on my t61p and intel 5100! Although now i'm thinking a 5300 would've been a better choice for max speed... Newegg only had the 5100...

Is there anyway to get my old Ericcson F3507g WWAN card to work on my new Thinkpad X201? Is there a whitelist Bios for the X201?

Hi all. I have Zender and he probably is busy and hasn't respond yet. Anyone has the T60 2007-D58?
It is a T60 14.1" 1024x768 screen.

Thanks and appreciated.

Sorry for the post. I sent the required PM on Wednesday. If someone has a copy of the modded T61 BIOS, they can PM it to me and I would be very grateful.. Otherwise I'll wait for Zender. It is not that important. I am trying to get a MC8765 working in my laptop. I could not see paying 75+ dollars on everyone's favorite online auction site for a MC8775, even if its data rates are faster and it is on the whitelist.

Thanks!!!

EDIT: Thanks to those who replied to my request. Installed BIOS, installed drivers, installed carrier's connection manager. It connected fine and I can now enjoy internet on-the-go!

Also, mine T61 has the 15.4" screen.

Thanks to Zender for the hard work in developing a workaround to the whitelist!

Anyone got it working on a x60s? Please let me know by PM, thanks! :)

EDIT:

To all interested in using none-whitelisted wireless cards, check out theise BIOSes:

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/thread ... y-Thinkpad

The one for X60 worked just fine on my X60s and it now accepts my new Atheros AR9280 300M. :)

Hi. I'm getting a T61 and thinking about the Gobi 2000. Did install a Gobi 2000 in a T6x using Zender's bios? If so, do you think a Gobi 2000 card that's not Lenovo branded will work?

thanks

Hello Dear Members,

I've send PM to Zender with request for modified bios for T400. I'm sticking to the rules in first post of this topic, so I've waited for 72h.
I would like to ask here, maybe someone has a copy and is willing to share with me.

Cheers,
waliak

Hello,

I have an x301 and removed the Ericson WWAN, replaced it with a Gobi 2000. I get:
"ERROR 1804: Unauthorized WAN card is plugged in - Power off and remove the WAN card."

I’m running on BIOS Version 3.10-1.05. Can anyone help?

I've PM'd.

Tnx for the PM guys. Works perfect with my Sierra. Couldn't get the Gobi to activate, but there aren't many ATT 7.2 locations for it to matter right now.

Gobi 2000 in X301 - 2777 CTO.

Thanks Zender! Just Got the PM and installed modified BIOS. I had 3.10 -1.05 and downgraded to patched 3.09 – 1.05.

Got the driver package for the X201. Access Connections works.
Gobi 2000 works and I can swap back and forth from AT&T and Verizon networks back and forth. Will try Vodafone in GB next week.

GPS also works but only in standalone mode. No A-GPS option is available. I feel it’s a driver issue since I’m using the ones for the X201 instead of the ones for the X301?

Hi folks. I rent a PM to Zender as well and haven't gotten a response yet. I assume he has quite a bit on his plate! If anyone can send me a patched/modded BIOS for a 6459-xxx T61p, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to get around the whitelist issues mainly, but I do have one other question: has anyone unlocked the "performance" and "advanced" features present in the T61p BIOS- recent Sony and HP hacked BIOS' have exposed all kinds of new settings. Wondered if any of this has made its way to the Thinkpads.

Thanks in advance,

Noghri

Hi everyone,

I PM'd Zender and will wait for moded BIOS for Lenovo 3000 v200.
I'm very happy i found this forum and this topic.
Thank you Zender for you hard work about this issue.
I wish you the very best.

I can't believe how fast you are. Flashed my 3000 v200 with Zender's BIOS and everything is OK. I had to tap pin 20 just to be sure. Didn't test without tapping.
Thank you Zender, thank you all for this for giving me freedom to choose. :D

PM sent to Zender yesterday requesting T60 2623-KEU modded BIOS...Let's hope it works!

UPDATE - Thanks to the kind person who sent me the needed information! Had to downgrade from 2.26 to 2.25 but all seems great so far....now to get my hands on an Intel 5300... :D

FINAL UPDATE ~ Just installed a HP-branded Intel 5300, running flawlessly! Zender, you are a GENIUS! Thanks so very much!
