If you are installing the Broadcom card in the left hand side PCIe slot (WWAN slot - nearest to the single USB socket/below the Fan Heatsink) - then unfortunately the card will not function. The top slot (near the LCD connector) supports PCIe signals which are usually WiFi cards like your Broadcom - I currently am using an HP Broadcom BCM94322MC and can confirm it is working a-ok with modified BIOS - (Pin20 not taped).
