Battery discharges when removed from T41P

#1 Post by ravenjim » Sat Jan 19, 2008 5:00 pm

Hello everyone,

I bought two used 9-CELL 10.8V 6.6AH LI-ION BATTERY FRU P/N 92P1013 for my T41P. When they're not charging or even removed from my laptop, they stay hot around the circuit charging area and will discharge all the way. They were completely discharged when I got them but charged fine on tp.

The original battery is a 9-CELL 10.8V 6.6AH LI-ION BATTERY FRU P/N 92P1065 and holds its charge well and stays cool when removed.

Are these batteries not compatible with my t41p causing some part of the charging circuit to discharge them?

Iv'e checked around on forum and can't find anyone else with this problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Jim

I would send them back to the seller. Laptop batteries that get hot are not safe.

Exploding batteries are very, very dangerous!

The batteries are not getting hot, its some component on the battery's circuit board causing them to drain.
