Hi,
I have bought a Port Replicator II for my T41. Everything's great except that I cannot manage to cut off the internal ThinkPad speakers so I can only hear the external speakers connected to the replicator.
Pressing the mute button causes _everything_ to go mute (obviously, since the mute option in Windows sound mixer activates when I press it).
A quote from the ThinkWiki page on Mini Dock:
"To silence the internal speaker use the mute button, which mutes the speakers and internal headphone output on ThinkPads before the Lenovo *61 series."
I thought the same would apply to the Port Replicator II since they are pretty simmilar.
Any ideas?
EDIT: I just found out that I can use the Volume Down button to mute the internal speakers. It does not affect the audio output from the replicator. Still, shouldn't the mute button do the trick?
As a side note, I think I have everything installed, System Update says that there are no updates for me.

Try to turn the volume down to zero (without pressing the mute button), then you will no longer hear the internal speakers.
If you want to take full control of the sound, you can always connect the audio cable to your TP directly (bypass the PortRep)
For more information, please take a look at:

Thanks. I searched before I posted but somehow missed these threads.
It's normal then. I will probably get a minijack so I can plug it in to mute the speakers. Or I will always urn the volume down, will see over time which one works better for me.
