Intel CPU Virtualization for Core Duo in BIOS?

#1 Post by hellosailor » Sun Jan 20, 2008 12:35 pm

While I was looking the BIOS, I saw there is an option--normally disabled--to allow virtualization for the CPU, which I thought was the normal way to make the Core Duo CPUs really perform. Or at least, Intel claims it is.

But the default ships with this off.

Is the default too conservative, or will enabling virtualization cause problems on a Vista system?

Acctually it's for better support of creating virtual machines if I remember correctly. I think VMWare makes use of it. If you don't use it, you might aswell disable it. I'm not aware of any performance issues.
