While I was looking the BIOS, I saw there is an option--normally disabled--to allow virtualization for the CPU, which I thought was the normal way to make the Core Duo CPUs really perform. Or at least, Intel claims it is.
But the default ships with this off.
Is the default too conservative, or will enabling virtualization cause problems on a Vista system?

Can I simply swap out my T5500 CPU in my 1953CTO T60 with a T5600? Or my T2400 core duo in my 2623D6U T60?
