Flickering display of Thinkpad R32

#1 Post by jim61 » Wed Nov 24, 2004 9:05 am

Hello,

There are flickering horizontal lines about 30mm wide in blue color near the middle of the upper portion of display.

The photo at the following link shows the display:

Would anyone advise me how the flickering display could be fixed?

Thank you very much.

Most likely it is the LCD panel. They are very fragile and can be damaged quite easily. I think your best bet would be to find a replacement on eBay. It has been my experience that the 14" LCDs on the A, T, and R series are compatible with one another. You should be able to pick up a refurbished one such as the Samsung LTN141X8-L00 for around $100.

A word of warning though, you can find compatible panels for as low as $35, but these most likely will have signicant surface wear. It is better to pay a little more.
