When I replaced that CMOS battery, it prompted me to do the date and time and such but somewhere in all of that, I set a password in the BIOS. I think there was a master password, a hard disk one and a supervisor one. I set them all the same and I know what it is, but I'd like to just get rid of it. It's a pain and there's no need for it. How do you clear your password so it isn't required when waking from sleep and so on?

Well, I did that, but I didn't see a way to clear the password altogether. It wouldn't let me leave the field blank.

Download and read the User Guide for that machine from Lenovo. But I think you clear some of them by adding a space character when you enter the password. Some of them can be cleared in EZSetup.

1) Go into easy setup.
2) Click on password icon
3) Click on the one that is locked (supervisor?)
4) Type in correct password and add a space after it.
5) Hit enter and a new box will appear. This is where you would put a new password if you wanted to change it.
6) Hit enter again without putting in a new password and it will remove the password
7) Watch the locked icon change to unlocked

Thanks. I actually did that right before you posted your message. Dug around and found it in the User's Reference. Worked like a charm.
