The keyboard screws are marked with a small keyboard icon. There are 4 screws for the 14" models, 3 for the 15" T42 and T43 models.
To grip the keyboard when sliding it forward (for install) or toward the display on removal, use the bar that the power button is mounted in – not one of the key tops or spacebar. Excessive pressure on one of these can pop it off, and as others have noted, re-installing a key cap is a real pain.
One note of caution: on a few occasions, I have had difficulty in tightening one or more screws when replacing the keyboard. The first time I encountered this, I actually ruined the Phillips head, despite attempting to use care. It seems like the brass standoffs either corrode, or the bits of nylon from the screw coating don’t fall out and interfere when replacing the screw. I ended up buying an M3 bottoming tap and use it to clean the treads whenever I encounter this problem. I have probably needed to resort to this 3 or 4 times in opening about 20 or so T40 series. Be careful when running it down the standoff, as the bottoms are open and if you go to far you can run the tap through the flex circuit board.
