T30 Recovery CD help needed

#1 Post by OldOneEye » Wed Jan 23, 2008 1:30 pm

So the guys at work decided to dump a few of their older/dead computers and I ended up with a T30 2366. I managed to get it powered up and running, and wanted to do a fresh OS (it seemed to have the original XP Professional on it. Since they supposedly keep all the owners manuals and CDs for computers in the office, I asked the IT guy for the recovery CDs for the computer. He mentioned he didn't have it, but he did have a Windows XP Professional CD (and me assuming that since the T30 had a product key for XP Pro on the bottom, having that was next best to having a fresh install). So I formatted the drive, tried loading XP pro and it wouldn't take the key. So then he said it might be a "OEM" product key, so he brought another disc from a "retail" install, with similar results.

So I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the recovery discs they can loan/sell me. The laptop is collecting dust and I want to get it up and running. Thanks in advance.

Juan

Place a WTB (Want To Buy) ad in the Marketplace forum for a set of XP recovery disks for a T30.
