make SXGA+ look like XGA???

#1 Post by mattbiernat » Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:19 am

Okay so here is what i like about SXGA+:
- lots of space for many windows
- perfect font size for my eyes (at 14" screen)
here is what i don't like about SXGA+:
- icons (folders, mycomputer, rycycle bin, etc) are too small
- tools bars, task bar and start menu are too small
What XGA has that SXGA+ doesn't:
icons, tool bars, start menu, etc... all the size that i got used to and that i like. Is there any way to hack windows in order to make those basic components (icons, tool bars, start menu, etc...) look like in XGA screens?
Im sure there must be some kind of registry hacks... Anybody knows windows registry that well???

Rightclick anywhere on the Desktop, select Properties/Settings/Advanced.
Change the DPI settings on your display from 96 to 120 or another value that suits you.

under appearances in display settings (right click on the desktop and click properties) you can change the font size. Click on advance and you can tell Windows to use larger icons. That what i did with my T41 with xp. Now the T41 runs Vista and it uses larger icons be default.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.
