Hard Drive on X40 died.

It happened at like 1 in the morning, called up IBM and I got one the morning after.

Installing is cake, three screws, and I work with laptops at my job all the time so this is nothing new to me.

Running drive fitness test on it to see if all is well.

This doesn't change my opinion of IBM at all, this is the second HD in my life to go bad, the first being a maxtor.

Wonderful support, lady asked if i wanted them to fix it, I was like that isn't necessary I can handle a hd install.

All in all, my first tech support experiance went fantastic.

The packaging was amazing, I would 100% feel confident throwing this box against a wall and know my hd is safe inside, this thing had a 2.5 inch layer of foam, then a custom mold, just to hold a hd, then another 2.5 inch piece of mold.

These layers of foam where then wrapped in the bag-o-air stuff so it was amazing the care they went into.

I once had a drive with a bent pin (ouch) and it acted weired after about 2 months of use. While in windows windows would pop-up indicating a registry key had been recovered of copied. Then on the next restart dos would say the config.sys file is missing or corrupted. Tried safe mode, last known good one, safe again, then normal and it would boot. Then my personal firewall would act up and then my anti virus. I was convinced I had a virus but it turned out to be just that, a freaking bent pin...go figure!
