I have registered this Thinkpad, something I usually NEVER do, because I always switch too often. However, since I am married to my LCD, I have no plans to get a new Thinkpad anytime soon. So should I buy additional warranty sooner rather than at a later point in time? What's the best deal on the warranty, and will it continue to work like the "old-style" warranty? In 9 years of owning nothing but Thinkpads, this has never been a question, as I always switched into another one with warranty, not that I EVER needed it. And my Thinkpads get knocked around quite a bit, and have been with me around the world, including hot and humid, as well as brutally cold weather conditions. Talk about quality.
Buy add'l warranty on the T60p now vs. later???

My warranty on my beloved Thinkpad runs out in mid-2009. The new warranties from Lenovo are pretty expensive compared to the 3-year int'l ones from IBM.

Oh come on...nobody?...Pretty please? Can someone at least tell me if it's cheaper to buy warranty earlier than when it's about to be up???
Also, is there a LIMIT of ANY kind as to how long BEFORE the expiration of when warranty, I'd have to buy it, or I wouldn't be able to at all? Thanks...

I don't think there's any difference unless you're buying it at the same time that you buy the system (and I'm not sure there's a price break there, either). You're always at risk of the price going up as time goes by, but, then, the system could also be lost or damaged somehow that isn't covered by the warranty. Or you may never need the warranty because it just works and nothing ever breaks. It's insurance which is always an unknown. Flip a coin.Crunch wrote:Can someone at least tell me if it's cheaper to buy warranty earlier than when it's about to be up???

Re how close to buy before expiration? By 11:59PM on the last day of the warranty.
