System Update freezing

#1 Post by Pocket Aces » Fri Jan 25, 2008 3:33 pm

When I run System Update, it seems to get stuck at "Downloading Package Information". Despite being only about 400 KB, it takes a reeeeaaaally long time to download. I've tried this both at home (20Mb/s) and at school (8Mb/s), and both times it's freezing. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version. If I leave it on overnight, it seems to finish, but it tells me that it didn't find anything to update, which I know is not true because I did a full reinstall of Windows and updated the drivers myself, so there should still be a whole bunch of ThinkVantage crap it will recommend. Can someone help me?
