acpi driver refuses to install

#1 Post by mluu510 » Sun Jan 27, 2008 6:15 am

i have a lenovo z61t. i reinstalled my own copy of winxp sp2 and removed my recovery partition. i am having trouble getting the acpi power management driver to install. when i try to run it, it says "cannot run on this system"

i already installed:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-64133
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-61583

i am trying to get this to install
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... IGR-4gxpeg

i need the acpi driver because i can't standby, hibernate or see my battery meter. thank you

ok, i figured out what is wrong. i didn't install acpi during xp installation. i pressed f5 before the installation and i selected "standard pc" option because i thought there were only two options. stupid winxp dialog! i am reinstalling it now with "ACPI Multiprocessor PC" i hope that's the right one. thanks, guys.
