Safeguard Privatedisk How to defragment

#1 Post by Rundelight » Sun Jan 27, 2008 3:12 pm

Hi All

I have a big SafeGuard partitioning on my C:drive where I keep all my Work related files.

it has a drive letter Z: but is basically also located in (My Documents) as Pdiskvol.002.

When I run Disk Fragement under Windows tools I only see C: and a big fragmented file the size of the Safeguard disk (30Gb). during a disk defragmention the safeguard disk is seen as 1 file the size 30Gb and hence not defragmented

The good question is how can I defragment the Safeguard disk

Regards

I think you will need to mount the volume first, so that it appears as a Local Disk with a drive letter - then run the Disk Defrag software on the mounted volume (Local Disk).

But that is exactly how it is mounted as Z:drive but when running disk defrag the Safeguard drive letter Z: does not appear only the C:drive (Which Z: is a part of), the Safeguard srive is seen as a 30gB fragmented file

Any one knowing how to run the windows XP defrag on a File or location from the Run menu in the start tab
