IBM ezserv turnaround time?

#1 Post by funk3r » Mon Jan 28, 2008 2:00 pm

I sent my x61t in on the 25th to get the LCD screen replaced because of dead pixels; I ordered the unit on the 15th, it arrived on the 23rd. I'm sure the repair center is closed on weekends, so I was wondering how long it usually takes for the system to be repaired and sent back.

In the US, normally 3-5 business days. But it mainly depends on parts availability and time of the year.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

For some reason it seems on the Tablets it is a longer turn around time. I had the LCD bezel replaced on mine and that took 3/4 days JUST ON THE PARTS HOLD!

I purchased accidental damage protection and slipped on some ICE and cracked the LCD (last year around this time) and they took about 4 weeks to get the machine to me; mainly due to them not having the LCD in stock!!

I sent in two weeks ago for the separating bezel and lower 1/3rd lcd issues with my X61t.

It was back in my hand in less than 48 hours, so that was pretty decent. Online status tracking is a neat feature but didn't even need it this time.

And for a change I didn't even find those scratches that inevitably show up, well, except for a smudgy screen.

sent it tuesday April 1st. Had some warranty issue that hopefully was fixed by. I called on Thursday on the 3rd. I was told they only started working on it that morning.

The last machine that I've sent there was an A31p in January and it was returned two days later with a new mobo, LCD and a bunch of plastics.

You can't beat that, especially on a 4.5 year old machine.
