Got an email the other day with a download link for PerfectDisk 9 Pro, as a free upgrade to my recently-purchased PerfectDisk 8. Since I was granted "early access" to it prior to its public release, I haven't exactly jumped on getting it installed . . . I hate to be the guy with the arrows in his back.
Anyone else taken the plunge, at least on a T60? Is the installation worth it in its current form, or should I wait?

I'm running the new pre-release and it's fine on my T60. The only real change is "on the fly" defragmentation, which I suppose has some use on a desktop machine, but I really don't want it on my ThinkPad which is on and off into hibernation several times a day.Dodge DeBoulet wrote:Got an email the other day with a download link for PerfectDisk 9 Pro, as a free upgrade to my recently-purchased PerfectDisk 8. The GUI is a "ribbon" type, much like Office 2007's Ribbon, even the colors are similar.
The program seems to do its basic job quickly enough, and the "stealth" defrag (aka on the fly) seems to work fine, with little or no load on the system while doing other things.
I have the upgrade but it is called PD 2008 and it works fine.
