WiFi icon on the faceplate does not light up or flash

#1 Post by u0330v » Mon Jan 28, 2008 11:24 pm

This is a bit strange, but the wifi icon on the faceplate (that strip located above the power button) of my R61 does not light up or show a flashing green even though my wireless connection is active.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a fix for this? I tried rebooting but the wifi icon still does not light up. I know that my wifi connection is okay as I'm typing this message while online at this very moment. And I know that the icon does function properly because it flashes when I'm online while using Windows Vista Business.

Oh, my Linux OS is Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy 64-bit.

Any ideas? Thanks.

It will never work in linux! At least not now.

Don't think there is a fix either, you can try turning on the LED's in /proc/acpi/ibm/somethingregardingLED's.

Don't worry about the light for now. The drivers are still in development. They will probably get it working when they refine the driver further. For now the light does not work.
