X31/32/40/41 - can I rig an T-series optical drive to it?

Thinking about buying an X series - 31/32/40/41. Can I somehow connect my T60's cd drive to the X laptop? Or do I need the ultrabase? Can I use my T60 cd drive with the ultrabase?

I only need to hook up the cd drive to the X laptop once - and that's to do a fresh OS install. After that, I can just download disk images over the network.

I guess the alternative is finding a local X series owner who would let me borrow his/her ultrabase.

So all I need is the ultrabase? Is there a particular ultrabase I need (sorry, don't know anything about T4x, only about T6x), or will any ultrabase designed for the T4x work with the cd/dvd drive from my T60?
