Can I add bluetooth to my X60 Tablet?

My model is 636346F and it didn't come with bluetooth. Is it possible to buy a bluetooth daughter card and add it on my x60t? I'ved looked at the service manual and there seems to be a sock on the lower right corner for the BDC, i don't know whether i have it or not.

if so do i need to change the icon plate?
will it void the the warranty?
can I ask lenovo to do it?

after reviewing the X60T/X61T hardware maintenance manual, it looks like the bluetooth antenna is integrated in all of the flexible cables regardless of model.   however, your model is not listed as including a required bluetooth cable (FRU 93P4371) which appears to bridge the flexible cable into the bluetooth card (FRU 39T0497).

since i don't own or have access to an X6 tablet, i cannot verify the above personally.   judging by the diagrams in the HMM, you should be able to view and access everything by removing the keyboard.

afaik, lenovo will not retrofit bluetooth into your unit.   even if they will do the mod it would be cheaper to do this yourself.   the modification appears to be quite easy and straightforward.

parts can be ordered directly from IBM by calling 800-788-3080 options 2:1:1 using the FRU numbers above and/or in the HMM if anything else is required.   or, you might be able to find what you need online.

lastly, the icon plate (aka "clear plate") will need to be changed if you don't already have a bluetooth icon (which i imagine you don't).
