T4 Series AC Adapters

#1 Post by fkelly » Sat Feb 02, 2008 12:59 pm

About to pickup an X31 and wanted to know if the T40 or T42 series AC adapters were interchangable with the X31's.

Yes, should be compatible. Sometime you would get a 56W adapter instead of 72W but should be ok.

I believe all models before 2006 use the same power input and plug, which was quite convenient, until Lenovo changed to the 20Volt ones

The 56 watt adapter will not charge the battery correctly, especially ig you use more power (lots of memory, big screen, wireless radio)

No, they didn't, with the G series being a good example.

Many, but not all ThinkPads used the same voltage and plug over quite a long period of time but the energy output of the power supplies delivered has also changed considerably over the years.

Cheers,
