R61 and S-Video Out

#1 Post by TPad » Sat Feb 02, 2008 4:35 pm

I'm thinking about purchasing ThinkPad R61. But I would prefer to have S-Video out for occasional connection to TV. After browsing Lenovo web site I can't find infromation if R61 has S-Video.
I've already checked several online sellers like newegg and they don't list S-Video out in their spec.

If R61 has it which model number comes with it?

Thanks in advance.

All R61/i 15.4'' W, I believe. However for a definite answer please refer to tabook.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Welcome to the Forum!

Perplexing. I've been looking at the tabook and some 15.4's list it and some don't. It's a very good question and even Lenovo's site doesn't list it clearly. I guess they're so new that the information hasn't caught up with the print products yet. I noticed Presentation Director is included with all of them but I guess even if the R61 doesn't have S-Video it would be used for controlling an external display through the VGA port. Anything with the Nvidia Quadro has it listed in the ports section of the tabook, that much I did find. The Intel GMA's I did not see it listed. I guess it takes more horsepower than the GMA has available but I wouldn't think so.

Well good luck TPad and hope you enjoy your new R61 when you find the one you wish for.
