I got a crack on my X61S LCD.
Do you know how much it will cost get placement from Lenovo?
If that costs me too much, then I am thinking of change the LCD by myself. What is compatible LCD for X61S ultra light version?
Thanks in advance.
Please pay attention to what I told you earlier in this thread: you do NOT have the latitude to choose any one of the above FRU #s, because only FRU #13N7092 will fit your machine's LCD enclosure and LCD cable.weggy999 wrote:It belongs to 13N7092, 13N7094, 13N7096, and 42T0343.
what is the best if the prices are the same?

weggy999, I can confirm that what EOMtp wrote is correct. Because your X61s has an Ultralight display, only the TMD screen (i.e. the 13N7092) is thin enough for your enclosure. The non-Ultralight panels are too thick. Do not buy any of the other three. You should thank EOMtp for saving you from wasting $325.EOMtp wrote:only FRU #13N7092 will fit your machine's LCD enclosure and LCD cable.weggy999 wrote:It belongs to 13N7092, 13N7094, 13N7096, and 42T0343.

Thank you all for responses.pianowizard wrote:weggy999, I can confirm that what EOMtp wrote is correct. 7668-CTO includes both Ultralight and non-Ultralight models. That's why you see all four kinds of panels listed when you look up "7668-CTO".
I didn't drop the laptop. and I don't recall any "bump" on my machine... It is almost on figer print part when I closed the lcd.Harryc wrote:How did the 'crack' occur? Did you drop the machine, or did it appear on it's own? Where exactly is it cracked?weggy999 wrote: ...And I encountered this kind of LCD problem for the first time.
I tried to replace my LCD today. I found that my LCD is 42t0343, not 13N7092.weggy999 wrote:I didn't drop the laptop. and I don't recall any "bump" on my machine... Really? I ordered my labtop from LENOVO directly and double checked they have my laptop with Ultra-LCD. I have email proof for that. Do you have any suggestion?Harryc wrote:CMO 42T0343 = non-Ultralight LCD.
At the moment I ordered the laptop. there was no option on web site for 1.8ghz CPU with Ultra-Light LCD. So I called to a lenovo sales department, ordered the X61S with Ultra-light LCD and 1.8Ghz CPU. And I asked several times that is coming with ultra light one. I have emails about it. the model name is 7668CTHarryc wrote:If it's broken, and you can't prove that you did not do it, then your only option is to replace it. After that, I'd contact Lenovo and straighten out your order. They are not going to give you an ultralight LCD to replace a broken non- Ultra.... What is your machine type/model from the bottom of the machine?
just make a complaint to lenovo.weggy999 wrote:Do you have any suggestion? I feel bad that they didn't send me ultra light lcd even I double no triple checked to make sure they send me the right LCD.Harryc wrote:Well, that's not what you were sent, sorry.
