Not really a problem... just a comment

I have a T41p. Great little machine, up until this weekend I was running the original 60GB HD in it. I picked up 2 80 Seagate drives (I routinely do a complete copy of my HDD as my back up, if my drive does crash I just drop the back up drive in the machine and off I go) I went with the ST980815A models as they run with a 1 platter/2 head configuration.

I have got to say it is almost unsettling how quiet these drives are. My hard drive used to routinely run around 40 - 45 degrees C and now I am sitting at a much more comfortable 32C. I know there are drives of greater size out there with the same physical attributes, namely the Samsung but the Seagate was easier to source out. I just wanted to share my opinion on a minor upgrade this weekend.

have a good one!

Try FRU 13R2657 - is a very quiet fan for the T4x series.

The 41V9932 was reportedly a quiet fan for the T60 series.

A redesign may have occured for the T61 - see this thread:

I have a 100GB 7200rpm Seagate in my T42p and like yours, it's whisper quiet and often runs around 30C. Plus I like the fact that I can use the Acronis True Image-based Seagate Disc Wizard with it (it's IMO an essential utility for any TP user with a Seagate drive).

Hey Kristian would you recommend using diskwizard over Acronis True Image? I already use Acronis...
