A Little Different Drive Issue

#1 Post by Ein » Thu Feb 07, 2008 9:35 am

Hey everyone,

I have a Thinkpad that is showing a similar issue talked about in the sticky above.

When I plug the drive into the USB drive, Windows gives it a New Hardware Connection sound, it shows in the Hardware Profile, it shows under some programs - like Photoshop - when you browse for it (ie File - Open), but it does not show in Windows Explorer.

I tried the suggestions in the above sticky (it seemed very similar) but I didn't resolve the issue. Are there are other suggestions?

Thanks!

John

It's possible a drive letter is not being assigned.
Do a<Start> <Run> diskmgmt.msc to get into the Disk Management utility and check to see if the drive appears and if a drive letter has been assigned or assign one yourself.

Good suggestion!

I looked, and it shows an assigned drive letter. You can also open the drives here, as well.

Changing the drive letter does not work...
