R61i audio problem - newest 3.38.0.52 driver - Win XP

#1 Post by majro » Sun Feb 10, 2008 7:08 am

Hello, I have the following problem. I put my ThinkPad to standby, or hibernate mode. Then I put it on, and sound is distorted. When I restart, it is gone.

I recorded it (it is the same sound, the first is normal, the second is the distorted one):
normal:
http://www.vrbovsky.sk/good.wav
distorted:
http://www.vrbovsky.sk/bad.wav

I suspect it has something to do with this:
Version 4.18.0.0 (Vista) / 3.38.0.52 (XP)

* (New) (Windows XP only) Enhancement of battery life during standby.
When I rollbacked it back to 3.38.0.51, it looked like this problem was gone.

If somebody has the older version, either the 3.38.0.50 or 3.38.0.51, I would be glad if you could provide it for me. I wasn't been able to find one on the internet. Why Lenovo can't provide also the older versions of drivers, is unknown to me.

Thank you.

Here:

Ver.4.18.0.0 (Windows Vista) / 3.38.0.51 (Windows XP). (Right Click and the save Target As).
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Thank you, ryengineer.

Unfortunately it didn't help. Now I don't know what else to try to solve that issue.

Lenovo email support replied automatically that I am beyond the 30 day Software warranty period after purchase. I purchased my ThinkPad on 24th January, so that is incorrect. I thought I would be more satisfied with my ThinkPad and Lenovo support in general

Should I call them?

Sure, you're entitled to.
