WTB: Fast X series with ultrabase - $600~$850

#1 Post by asiafish » Sun Feb 10, 2008 5:23 pm

Looking for a fast X series (non-tablet) with ultrabase and either combo drive or DVDRW. For an X40 or X41 it must have the 60GB drive (can't live in 40GB), but HD size not important for X3x or X6x.

Must be at least 1.6GHz and have no cosmetic or functional issues whatsoever. It is for an attorney's use in court, so looks count.

Let me know what you have and what you want for it.

If you're willing to shell out over $2000 (probably close to $3000), you may want to wait for a little bit and get the X300. Many forum members think it's the bestest X series ever. You won't need an ultrabase for it because you can configure a unit with integrated DVD burners and the whole thing still weighs only 3.13 lbs. Besides the integrated optical drive, another excellent feature is the 13.3" 1440x900 screen, which is infinitely more useful than XGA.

Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)

Nah, my needs are modest. An X32 or X60s would do everything I need it to.
