why is the color depth preset to 16bpp? R61i

Hello,

This color depth has been preset on my ThinkPad. I changed it to 32bpp, but then I installed the Base Software Administrator (I wanted to see what was preinstalled) and there was this option:

Color depth control to 16bpp for Intel Video driver -LC

Is there any reason for that?
