Computer came back from EzServ chipped, bezel falling off

#1 Post by noetus » Tue Feb 12, 2008 5:59 pm

I recently had to send my X61t in for service to have the screen repaired.

So it comes back with two chips on the bezel (one on each corner) and a crack in another corner where the recess for one of the screws is. Plus the bezel problem is not fixed - it's starting to peel already (this wasn't the reason the machine was sent in, but I expected them to fix it).

Not good, eh? What can I do? Likely they will deny any responsibility for the damage. It's not huge, but it is annoying. And this is an almost new machine.

Have you called to tell them about it? I would do that first. You will probably have to send it back in but I bet it comes back in better shape this time.
You must have gotten a careless technician. Maybe it was his last day on the job?
It obviously wasn't repaired correctly and I'm sure they will make it right if you tell them about it.

That is one of my worries about getting warranty work done. You get what you pay for....

Unfortunately I had the same problem multiple times :(

Its a long thread, but you can read about it and see the pic here; http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=56826

On top of the other issues, three times it came back with bezel problems.

Not properly put back together one time, a chunk missing from a corner another time, and finally a hairline fracture in the same location after fixing the chunk.
