Three problems with my z60t

#1 Post by sjdavis1024 » Tue Feb 12, 2008 11:57 pm

First problem isn't that big of problem. When I tell my laptop to go into sleep mode it won't. Sometimes it never goes into sleep mode or it will decide to finally go into sleep mode after I no longer need it to go into sleep mode. This has been an issue since when I got the laptop May/June 2006. My mom's z series (she might have had the z60t as well) also had the same problem and I think we both had XP pro. It was a company (Lenovo) computer and she no longer works there.

The other two problems are more troublesome.

The second problem that came up Oct/Nov 2007 is all of a sudden the monitor will go one color. Random times and random colors, though I think they tend to be colors the monitor is currently using.

It stopped mid Dec while I was home for Winter break and started back up a couple of days ago. Sometimes it skips days and other days it hits me multiple times. Sleep mode fixes the problem (it shows up normally once it comes out of sleep mode) and so does hard shutting my computer down, which is not good for the computer at all. I also don't get fussed at for improper shut down when I restart it.)

Just installed video card drivers (Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express). They hadn't been updated at all. Hopefully, that resolves this issue.

Third issue: when I shut down my laptop my icons and task bar disappear and then it freezes. The mouse is still there, but no logging out or shutting windows down pop ups appear. Only solution is a hard shut down. I don't get any improper shut down messages when I start up the computer the next day.

I have another problem, but that's probably a memory issue (antivirus only runs when nothing else is running at all). I have 5.87 GB of free space. 33.1 GB total. I need to go and delete stuff I don't need anymore.
z60t XP Pro (and that's about all I know)
