Long waiting after any mouse operation on T43

The issue appeared quite recently: nearly any mouse operation (click on something) commands long waiting for the response. That happens even with very few or even single application is opened at the time.

Begun to work this way few weeks ago, do not remember installing any software that may cause to that taking up the resources such way, though I did HDD defragmentation few weeks back amd still have about 50% of free disk space (out of 40 GB in total HDD).
Perhaps someone encountered such weird behavior and can advise ?
