Leopard 10.5.2 ?
Leopard 10.5.2 ?
Just curious whether anyone had success installing 10.5.2 on newer Thinkpads (T60/T61, etc..)? I seem to get the kernel panic during an installation on my T60p and unable to proceed any further. So any luck with this newest update?

As you, I upgraded to 10.5.2 following netkas instructions, and I was left without keyboard (usb mouse, instead, worked fine).
I found a solution to the problem of the keyboard, in post #7 of this thread:

Just grab ACPIPS2Nub.kext here
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php? ... t&id=22027
unzip it, put it in the Extensions folder (they say to replace it, but I did not have it after installation), as usual repair permissions and reboot.
Voilà: my keybord worked again.
I am on a mbr efi v.8 system, originally installed with the 10.5.0 flat image and then updated to 10.5.1 via Apple software update. I did not install any fancy kext (for battery meter, sound, and the like), so I did not have to restore any kext after the upgrade.
As far as I can see, whatever worked with 10.5.1 is working with 10.5.2 too. I haven't yet updated the graphics drivers.
Regards
Neb

AzaliaAudio.pkg
If so and still no sound try this...I found it on some other webiste and forget where to give proper credit...
1. Open /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/Info.plist
2. Find "<key>IOHDAudioCodecVendorID</key>"
3. In the next line where IOHDAudioCodecVendorID was found , replace "0x????????" with "0x11d41981"(You may check if your AD1981HD use this devid at Device Manager in Windows).
You can just add the device ID without deleting any others id.
Finally,in terminal:
sudo -s
cd /System/Library/Extensions
chown -R root:wheel AppleAzaliaAudio.kext
find AppleAzaliaAudio.kext -type d -exec /bin/chmod 0755 {} \;
find AppleAzaliaAudio.kext -type f -exec /bin/chmod 0644 {} \;
cd /System/Library
rm -rf Extensions.mkext Extensions.kextcache
shutdown -r now
Thanks for all replies, I'm now on 10.5.2 with sound and everything working perfectly.
One question though, has anyone tried installing new "Leopard Graphics Update 1.0"? After my adventure with 10.5.2 I'm not feeling too comfortable getting updated directly from Apple now... I saw some people mentioned that Graphics Update work, but on ATI cards graphis become choppy and unresponsive. Any thoughts or experience on that?

T43p updated to Leopard 10.5.2
Just wanted to add that I've successfully updated my Thinkpad T43p to Leopard 10.5.2.
I used Kalyway's ComboUpdate. Everything ran well after first reboot, keyboard and track pad working plus sound. The only thing I had to fix was the wireless.
In addition, rather than using Kalyway's kernel update I used Netkas' Universal 9.2 kernel. Then I updated System.kext with the vanilla version from the original 10.5.2 update. Now everything worked as before.
